Provisioning flow
Connhex Provisioning creates both a virtual device and its configuration by following a series of steps, shown below.
This service acts like a wrapper around different other services of the Connhex ecosystem. For example:
- it leverages Connhex Certs and its associated PKI to issue the device certificate
- it stores the device's credentials in Connhex Remote Init. These will be typically retrieved by the device itself upon first boot
Starting the procedure
The actor that initiates the provisioning procedure is represented in the diagram as Admin. This could either represent:
- a person, should the flow be started manually, or
- an automated tool
Testing
It is common to automatically start the provisioning procedure after the physical device has been assembled, during the testing phase.
